Job Description
Searching an IT support technician/engineer with hands-on knowledge of technical support in a variety of areas, from computer hardware to network infrastructures.The IT support technician will be responsible for providing second line to ensure maximum continuity of daily service. You are familiar with products ranging from computer applications to server based services and are able to quickly gain in-depth knowledge of applications and hardware.
Primary Job Responsibilities
-Work in a team to provide professional, courteous and rapid second line IT support
-Answer first line questions from colleagues
-Install, configure, monitor and maintain computer systems and local network
-Redirect or escalate support requests as needed to the appropriate teams in the IT organization
-Provide laptops, cell phones, accounts and access rights for new employees and terminate those in case people exit our organization
-Pro-actively provide information to users on the progress of outstanding support calls
-Create and maintain current technical and procedural documentation
-Manage Vendor contracts and order hardware & software to keep inventory up-to-date
-Provide assistance with vendors? technical support
-Maintain equipment in meeting rooms
-Manage the development environment, a server based computing environment for ca. 60 users in multiple time zones, using:
o Citrix MetaFrame, Presentation Server 4.5
o VMWare ESX 3.5
o Nagios monitoring software
o NetApp SAN storage
Job Requirements
-At least two years of hands-on experience in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining computers, printers, servers and peripherals in medium to large office environments-Proven problem solving track record focused on quick outage restore, root cause analysis technologies, ability to work under pressure to meet challenging deadlines
-Positive attitude and willingness to take on new responsibilities, preparedness to be available during off-business hours
-high degree of knowledge in TCP/IP LAN and WAN/VPN environments and telecommunication support
-Ability to grasp in-depth knowledge of a broad spectrum of applications
-Experience in administering the following products in a 2nd line role is required:
o Windows XP and 2003 Server
o Citrix
o VMware ESX
o NetApp
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and Dutch
-Candidate must display a high degree of professionalism and integrity
-Valid driving license required
